As a New Englander, that nautical theme is just in my blood. Since I’m not the typical preppy Bostonian, my take is a blend of old fashioned styles. What classifies it as nautical? The red, white and blue of course. Oh, and the boat!
I paired these no-name high waisted shorts with a classic white button up, tied in the front, cinching the waist, adding some shape and giving off a 50’s feel. This blouse is the star of the show in my opinion. It’s the perfect fit and feel. It’s soft, flowing and drapes nicely. The weight of the material makes it easy to tie into a perfect looking knot or wear it down for a relaxed feel. It only seemed natural to pair these burnt russet Fry shoes as a pop of “red”. The neutral color of the vintage clutch compliments the muted colored shoes. I’m on a gold hoop earring kick, of all sizes, and finished the look off with some (borderline obnoxious) retro-looking sand-colored sunglasses.
